What’s next for Participatory Melbourne? (AUDIO)

‘Field Notes’ is a fortnightly column in which Regen Melbourne’s Lead Convenors provide on-the-ground updates and insights from their work and focus areas.

As Participatory Melbourne moves into the Organising phase of the SOIL methodology, Lead Convenor Caroline Sanz-Veitch pauses to ask a handful of close collaborators and peers how we might evolve and reframe the project to better capture the work and ambitions.

I wanted to use my first Field Notes as an opportunity to connect with and share the perspectives from some of my most admired thinkers and doers in the space – Willow Berzin from the Coalition of Everyone, Tim Adalin from Voicecraft, Ryan Hubbard from Hinterland and Karina Ojeda from Mosaik Experiences. Each of them were asked to respond to some of the new language and framing we’re considering for the next chapter of this project, recognising and learning from the journey so far and what we are striving for as we move forward. I think their responses perfectly capture the complexity of our challenges and the need to raise the ceiling on our ambitions to meet this moment, together.

I hope you enjoy these reflections as much as I did. You can listen to the full audio from my conversations below:

We’ll be sharing the next iterations of Participatory Melbourne at an event towards the end of March, and I’d love for you to join us. Beyond that, if you have any direct thoughts on this question of framing our next phase of Participatory Melbourne, please send me an email to caroline@regen.melbourne
